National Police Week

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a Presidential Proclamation that set aside May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week of May 15 as National Police Week. During this week C.O.P.S. hosts its National Conference in Washington D.C. This is where new survivors and survivors from previous years come together and can attend sessions dealing with grief and it's effect on families, victim rights, the survivor retreats, kids camp, and survivor networks. They also have access to mental health specialists.
